11.5 cm Microderoceras in nodule, Lower Sinemurian, Charmouth, Jurassic coast
A uncommon stable 9.5 cm 3d Microderoceras ammonite in a river birchi nodule - it was found on Charmouth beach, Jurassic coast, UK. It's around 195 million years old.
The ammonite was found by breaking the nodule it has been glued back together which can be seen on the right hand side in the first photo. The body chamber has been crushed and the inside prepared as the top side was missing.
Lower Sinemurian, Black Ven Mudstone Member, Charmouth Mudstone Formation, Charmouth, Dorset. 195 MYA
