A beach worn Septarian nodule with a 12 cm Xipheroceras sp ammonite inside. Prepared to show the translucency of the calcite when the piece is held up to the light - with some beautiful septarian veins.
No restoration or repairs, the reverse has been reinforced with glue to strengthen the calcite.
Lower Pliensbachian, Stonebarrow Marl Member, Black ven marls, Flatstone bed.
