27.5 cm Translucent ammonite bed with wood - From Charmouth beach
A very uncommon piece originating from the Coinstone. A beach worn stone packed with Xipheroceras, Asteroceras, promicroceras and Cymbites ammonites on wood. The wave action on the beach has ground off the reverse, allowing for the calcite to be translucent when a light is held behind the piece
Found on Charmouth beach, Jurassic coast, UK
Measuring 27.5 cm across it's widest part when found, the piece has been reinforced with resin on the reverse.
