30 cm Septarian ammonite bed with Xipheroceras and others, from Charmouth beach
A large stunning piece, with larger than average ammonites typically found in this bed. With great clarity and crystalised Septarian calcite veins, measuring 30 cm across it's widest point - containing Xipheroceras, Cymbites and Promicroceras ammonites.
No restoration, When cutting the stone down the piece broke along a natural calcite vein. This has been glued. A piece of limestone has been added to the reverse so that the ammonite bed stands steady.
The piece originates from the Stellare Septarian nodule bed.
