5 cm translucent Echioceras sp. with Crucilobiceras, from Charmouth beach
A natural beach worn stone containing a 5 cm Echioceras sp. ammonite accompanied by a smaller rare calcite Crucilobiceras sp. ammonite. The beach system has worn down the back of the Echioceras ammonite, allowing it to be prepared in a way that it allows the light to shine through when a light is placed behind it. The colours and patterns in the calcite are electric! The nodule measures 18 cm across it's widest part.
No repairs or restoration, free standing on a cut base.
The piece originates from the Echioceras limestone.
