6 cm translucent Asteroceras obtusum, from Charmouth beach, Jurassic coast

A stunning yellow Asteroceras obtusum ammonite measuring 6 cm across it's widest part. Displaying excellent centre preservation. The reverse matrix has been prepared away so that you can see the translucent properties of the ammonite. 

The ammonite can be illuminated by a light or put on a windowsill to see the sun shining through! 

 

No repairs or restoration, freestanding on a cut base. 

The piece originates from the Flatstone nodule bed.
